The Indianapolis Kings is a home school baseball program with Jr. High, JV, and Varsity teams playing a 35 game schedule on the Varsity level against public, parochial, Christian, and other home schools.
Those of us at the Indianapolis Kings Baseball can't say enough about Virgil Aldridge at Lawrence Park Youth Sports. He gives of himself to the Lawrence community to make sure kids have sports programs like football and baseball. He has been gracious enough to let us use the baseball fields for practices and Jr. High games. We are thankful for him and people like him and wanted to give back to him and the Lawrence program. On March 9th, approximately 25 families from the Kings High School and Jr. High teams gave their time on Saturday morning to help with the field clean up. As a program we are blessed by the Lord in so many ways. From Mr. Aldrige to our players to our families that serve in their faith, we are thankful.

Indianapolis Kings Meet Governor Mike Pence
posted June 5 The Kings had the honor of meeting with Governor Mike Pence earlier this week where they gave him a jersey as an honorary King for the day. He shared with the team some of his personal stories as well as sharing his favorite verse and why it is important to him (Genesis 18:19). The boys counted it a privilege to get a chance to pray together with him before leaving. Great way to cap off the season.
(posted Apr 21) On Saturday, God showed us life-on-life ministry beyond the game. The Kings played Gary Roosevelt in a double header. In the first game, it was evident the Gary team struggled to play at a higher level. As we talked to the coaches during the game, they said several of the kids play baseball to stay off the streets.
Between games, we had lunch on the infield with both teams together to reach out. Players were talking and connecting as teenage boys... laughing, sharing pictures of prom dates, talking about dread locks, etc. As we were getting ready to play the second game, we decided to ask the coaches if we could mix up the teams so Kings and Roosevelt players were together on the same team playing each other. They said sure.
The individual team records didn't matter. What we saw in the second game were guys giving each other high fives, players laughing together in the dugout and on the field, and words of encouragement as guys were "teammates" together. The game ended in the last inning with a team scoring the go ahead run and a dog pile occurring at home plate to celebrate. It was great to see, in the heart of Gary, boys from different backgrounds building relationships through a sport.
May God use this experience to help players realize our greater calling as a team.

The 2015 Kings Varsity Team finished the season this past weekend with a record of 27-12. This is the most wins in Kings history. The team won the Shine.FM Grand Park Tournament and was 2nd in the Midwest Homeschool World Series. They were led by senior co-captains John Evans (King of the Mound Award) and Abe Hogan (MVP), senior Micah Pullins (Batting King), and junior Nick Kult (Mark Judy Character Award). Great season boys representing homeschool sports and Christ well.

(from FB post) Great to see Mark Judy out at the ballpark on Saturday!
Many homeschool boys have been blessed over the last 11 years because of the foundation built on Christ by Mark when he founded the Kings. The Kings were started to give his oldest son, Greg Judy (pictured on far right) a chance to play competitive high school baseball.
Each of his other sons, Kent Judy(top far left), Mike Judy (top second from right), and TheBretton Judy (not pictured) have played for the Kings as well. His youngest son, Scotty Judy (bottom left), is now a Freshmen on the Varsity team.
Many families owe a debt to Mark and his family for what they have meant to homeschool boys in Indianapolis who love the game of baseball. Thank you Mark and Beth Judy for your example to so many for the last 11 years.
The 2015 JV and Varsity teams. As the homeschool high school team in Indy, these boys are a combined 28-6 for the first half of the season playing against teams like Brebeuf, Chesterton, Warren Central, Chatard, and Heritage Christian among others. This is the best start for the organization since it began as the teams have outscored opponents 352-119.

2015 Shine FM Grand Park Tournament Champions! The team played well all weekend with strong pitching, smart base running, and several extra base hits to win the tournament. Leading the team in hitting were Micah Stewart, Scott Judy, Abe Hogan, and Micah Pullins.
Kings baseball season ends on a great note. En route to winning the Indiana Christian School State Tournament, the Kings beat Providence Cristo Rey 27-0 in the first game and then beat Columbus Christian 14-0. In the last game, the pitching was provided by seniors Matty Michaels and Ben Evans who combined for 15 strikeouts over 5 innings.
Fun fact: With the playing of 1B, 2B, and C during the tournament, Matty successfully played all 9 positions this season.courtesy Kelly Michaels/Snapadoodle Photography
