In memoriam... Passing of former N.O.A.H. Head Coach Steven C. Gastulem "Coach G"
It is with heavy hearts that the Homeschool Football Federation and the NHFCS report the passing of former Tulsa N.O.A.H. Head Coach, AD and Board Member Steve Gastulem, affectionately known as "Coach G".
Gastulem, 57, was the second Varsity Head Coach in program history, taking over for Joe Blankenship after the 2011 season. A 1982 graduate & award winning Lineman of Baker University, Coach G had a distinguished coaching career that included winning multiple NHFCS National & Regional Championships as both Head Coach and Assistant Coach.
Last fall, Coach G was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and on the evening of July 24th, after putting up a very hard fight... Steve passed from this world and went to be with his Lord & Savior.
Gastulem was a father of eight and had just celebrated 29 years of marriage to his beloved wife Kari this month.
Having coached along side Steve for two seasons with N.O.A.H., I can personally attest to the incredible impact Coach G had on the lives of those around him. Steve was a great man with a big heart and his presence will be dearly missed by all those who's lives he touched.
On behalf of the Homeschool Football Federation , the National Homeschool Football Championship Series and our founder, David Van, we say "Thank You" to Coach G for all that you gave to the sport, to your organization and most importantly... your players. God Bless you Coach. You most certainly had a great game!
President, Homeschool Football Federation
