THESA Football Turkey Bowl 2020 is in the books and we had a blast in fellowship and football. It was a blast. This year it was the Geriatrics vs the Younguns! Happy Thanksgiving from the THESA Family.

   MEMBER    THESA Riders Varsity Cheerleaders took 2nd place in the Holly Powell Memorial Lone Star Classic Competition in San Antonio and received a bid to Nationals! They worked very hard and in less than a month, with only a handful of practices that the whole team could attend, they learned a routine and went out and rocked the mat last Saturday! AND shout out to Emily McKeever who took FIRST place in jumps!!






Sulphur Springs’ senior softball player Valori Voorheese, who plays with the Fort Worth THESA Riders, signed a letter of intent to play college softball at Texas A & M Commerce in Commerce, Texas.A signing event took place Sunday afternoon at The Way Bible Church of Sulphur Springs. Voorheese is in her fourth year as a player for THESA. Left to right in the photo behind Valori are her father Chris Voorheese who is also the current Head Coach for the Riders, Assistant Coach and THESA Softball Alum Madison Burke and her former coach and current THESA Athletic Director Dallas Burke. Valori is the daughter of Chris and Lori Voorheese of Sulphur Springs, Texas.



Sulphur Springs’ senior softball player Courtney “Corrie” Gaddis, who plays with Fort Worth THESA, Texas Homeschool Educators Sports Association, and with the Texas Blaze traveling team, signed a letter of intent to play college softball at Enterprise State Community College’s Boll Weevils in Enterprise, Alabama.


THESA Volleyball wraps up season, 3rd in Silver Divsion at Omaha Nationals Thesa Varsity fought hard but after a tough loss on Friday, they ended up battling in the silver bracket on Saturday finishing 3rd in Silver! Thank you to all the parents and players who dedicated their time and energy to THESA!! We had a wonderful year with ALL of our teams and see so much talent and growth for our years to come!!

TEXAS: THESA Riders 2018 NACA National Softball Champions The Texas Home Educators Sports Association Riders Varsity Softball team finished off another amazing season by winning all 7 games at the National Association of Christian Athletes Tournament in Dayton, Tennessee May 9-11th. The team saw stiff competition from the Georgia State Champion Kings Academy on Thursday but overcame them in extra innings by the score of 8 to 7. In Fridays Championship game the team refused to back down after falling behind early and came out on top beating the Alabama Christian Schools Champions, Evangel of Alabaster, Ala by the score of 9 to 6. 5 Riders were named All Americans by making the all tournament team, Pitcher Corrie Gaddis, Pitcher and SS Tara Stewart, Catcher and 1B Hailey Schmaltz, SS and Catcher Valori Voorheese and 2B and CF Heather Hoffman. 5 is the largest number of All Tournament players ever named from 1 team at the National Tournament. Stellar performances by Mikayla Hoffman, Alyssa Bone,Madison Kitner, Faith Keller,Callie Voorheese and Lark Horton all helped propel the Riders to the amazing undefeated week at the National Tournament.

The Riders went 27 and 4 on the season. The Riders have now won National Championships in 2014, 2016 and 2018.

THESA Riders (Defending 2016 TAIAO State and NFHSCS Div III National Champions) ready to defend ) started off the season by accepting invitation to the premier football kickoff event in the State of Texas, "The Hico Super Saturday". The City of Hico, Texas hosts 4 games in one day and the 6 man football world focuses their attention to see some of the best action around. The Riders rolled big in the game defeating the Blum Bobcats 68 -22. Senior QB Ford Spigener along with seniors Nathan Smith, Damon Thompson,Jayce Chisum and Chase Ragsdale all played great on offense and Tristan Hawkes led the defense with 12 tackles.

In the second game of the season the Riders traveled to Arlington, Texas to take on the Defending TCAF Div 3 State Champion The St Paul Lions. Ford Spigener scored 8 TDs on the night with 4 rushing TDs and 4 Passing TDs. Chase Ragsdale caught all 4 of those TD passes. Senior Justin Simek led the defense with 14 tackles and the Riders won big again defeating the Lions 58-21. The Riders are now 2-0 and preparing to take on one of the premier public school programs in Texas the Strawn Greyhounds.



THESA Softball Wins 2nd Straight Texas State Championship!
The THESA Riders swept the TAIAO Texas State Softball Championship to claim their 2nd straight State Title. Senior BaiLee Islas was the winning pitcher game 1 going all 7 innings and striking out 7. Sophmore Valori Voorheese and Islas each had 3 hits in the game and Madison Kitner drove in 3 with 2 hits. Lark Horton collected 2 hits and Alyssa Bone, BailLee Islas and Faith Keller all had 2 RBIs for the game. Rachel Spelman had a hit and two walks as THESA went on to defeat the CHANT Chargers 11-3 in the series opener.

In game 2 of the series Corrie Gaddis earned the win going 6 innings, striking out 8 and only gave up 1 run. Down 1 run in the fourth inning Freshman Tara Stewart tripled to drive in 2 runs to start the scoring for the Riders. Faith Keller, Valori Voorheese, BailLee Islas and Alyssa Bone all had multiple hits in the game. Madison Kitner and Rivers Puckett had hits in big situations as the Riders went on to win the game 11-1 and win the Series.

The Riders will play a few more games in advance of a trip to the NACA National Tournament in Dayton Tennessee May 9th -12th.

THESA Riders and CHANT Chargers to face off in Texas State Championship. 3-time Champions at Bethesda Christian Tournament

The Fort Worth THESA Riders and the CHANT Chargers will play a best of 3 Championship Series Saturday April 22 to decide the Texas State Championship of the TAIAO. The two teams continue to play great softball in Texas and represent homeschool athletes as the very best in their sport.

The THESA Riders won their 3rd Consecutive Championship at the Fort Worth Bethesda Christian Tournament on April 1 2017 with a dramatic final inning comeback vs Frisco Legacy in the Semi Final and a 9-7 win over CHANT in the Championship Game.

TAIAO has named its High School Softball 1st and 2nd All State team to be announced on April 22. TAIAO is the Texas Assoc of Independent Athletic Organization and is made up of Homeschool, Private and Public School Teams in Texas

FT WORTH THESA RIDERS WIN THE TEXAS TAIAO STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
The THESA Riders defeated the defending TAIAO Champion San Antonio FEAST in a shootout Saturday at Bryan Allen Academy Stadium in Bryan Texas to win their first ever football State Title by a score of 70 -64. The Riders were led by an amazing passing performance from QB Ford Spigener who was 17 of 27 for 496 yards and 7 TDs.

Senior RB Jack Drechsler provided the power for the offense catching 5 of those balls for 143 yards and a TD and added another 27 yards rushing and 2 TDs. Nathan Smith had 3 catches for 103 yards and a TD and Damon Thompson added 3 scores one of which was a beautiful 74 Yard strike from Spigener and then returned a kickoff 65 yards for another TD. Senior RB Jared Hagen provided a huge TD late in the game with a 50 yard run on a dump pass hurdling two defenders on his way to the endzone. Senior Sam Bradford was clutch all night finding the endzone twice in critical situations. The Rider defense was lead by Nathan Smith with 11 tackles and Tristan Hawkes with 9. Seniors Hagen and Bradford kept a potent Patriot running attack in check and made critical plays time after time.

The FEAST Patriots were led by RB Bryce Benitez who had 2 TDs and 165 yards rushing on 15 carries. Jacob Benitez had 178 all purpose yards and a beautiful Kickoff return for a TD. Senior QB Jeffery Dagerath returned from injury to contribute 100 yards and 3 TDs passing with 65 yards and a TD on the ground. The Patriots put up an amazing charge late scoring 32 points in the 4th quarter but THESA held them off scoring 20 points in the quarter themselves. THESA is currently ranked 13th among 6 man teams in the Nation by MaxPreps and is the Number 1 ranked homeschool Division 3 Team. ––

These two homeschool teams compete in the Texas Assoc of Independent Athletic Organizations which consist of public, private and homeschool teams throughout the State in virtually every sport available to high school athletes.

THESA Riders 2016 NACA Softball National Champions
The THESA Riders Softball Team finished off a great season 30-4 with an undefeated run at the National Assoc of Christian Athletes National Tournament in Dayton Tenn last week. The Riders defeated North River Christian of Tuscaloosa Alabama to win the Division 1 National Championship on Friday May 13. Three of the Riders were named All American. Freshmen Corrie Gaddis, Junior BaiLee Islas and Senior Annika Rosales. The Riders outscored their opponents 52 to 11 through 5 games at the tourney.

The Riders High School Softball Team were undefeated in the tournament (6-0) and won the Championship with a 14-4 victory over the CHANT Chargers(also a homeschool team) The tournament included public and private schools. The Riders hit 5 HRs and the pitching staff had 1 perfect game, 2 no hitters and a 1 hitter. Team batting average for the tournament was .637 The scores were THESA 15 Prince of Peace 0 THESA 11 Wichita Falls Notre Dame 0 THESA 15 Westlake 0 THESA 2 Legacy Christian 0 THESA 6 CHANT Chargers 4 Championship Game THESA 14 CHANT 4

This is two years in a row the girls have won the large program bracket at this tournament. The Riders have a DH with the Lubbock Titans on April 16 and then play in the TAIAO State Championship Series with CHANT on April 22. We will also we at the NACA Softball World Series in Dayton Tennessee May 10-14.
