Team Points
A team earns 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and no points for a loss. Team points are what determines what place a team ranks in its standings. Throughout the day, our tournament statistician will keep the team point totals up to date. For semi-final games, the 1st place team will play the 4th place and the 2nd place team will play the 3rd place team. The two winning teams will play in the championship. The 2 losing teams from the semi-finals games will have their team points compared to see which takes 3rd and which takes 4th.

There will be no 3rd place consolation game

Qualifying games can end in a tie. Semi-finals and Championship games that end in a tie will be decided by a shoot-out.

Tie-breaker System
At the end of the qualifying games, if 2 or more teams have the same amount of team points, the following tie-breaker rules will be applied to achieve the correct standings.

  • Tie-breaker #1: Fewer amount of goals allowed. The team allowing the fewest goals will be ranked higher than the other team.
  • Tie-breaker #2: Higher amount of goals allowed. The team scoring the most goals will be ranked higher than the other team.
  • Tie-breaker #3: Common opponents. A better win-loss record of a team with common opponents willl rank that team higher than the other.
