Meet Coach Ring from On Court Training
Information for home-schooled students

Students who were home schooled for any part of high school (grades nine through 12) must now register with the NCAA Eligibility Center. The eligibility center will determine whether student-athletes will be eligible for practice, competition and institutional financial aid at an NCAA Division I or Division II institution during their freshman year.

The eligibility center will perform preliminary and final certification reports for home-schooled students. The preliminary analysis of a student's academic record will enable the student to become aware of any deficiencies in their academic record and allow the student to rectify those deficiencies prior to high school graduation.

It is important to note that before a preliminary certification may be performed, the eligibility center must receive the Transcript Release Form (or registration form, which may be completed via the Internet), the registration fee, a transcript with at least six semesters represented, and official test scores on the ACT and/or SAT.

After high school graduation, once the eligibility center receives the student's final transcript and proof of graduation, the eligibility center will perform a final certification.

Home-schooled students should register with the eligibility center by visiting the eligibility center Web site at www.ncaaclearinghouse.net. From there, click on "Prospective Student-Athletes," then "U.S. Students Register Here" and follow the prompts.

After registering, the home-schooled student must send the following information to the eligibility center:

  • Standardized test score(s) must be on an official transcript from a traditional high school or be sent directly from the testing agency;

  • Transcript listing credits earned and grades (home-school transcript and any other official transcript from other high schools, community colleges, etc.);

  • Proof of high school graduation;

  • Evidence that home schooling was conducted in accordance with state law; and

  • List of texts used throughout home schooling (including text titles, publisher and in which courses the text was used)

Maximize Your Training like the Pros

HSPN has launched a new campaign tailored to the serious athlete and coach interested in healthy supplements for training and diet to perhaps enhance their performance. Executive Director, Chris Davis, recently became an Advocare distributor (thanks to my brother!) after using one of their many products and reading all of the endorsements (see upper right corner). At the age of 47, I run 3 miles a day, I am anxious to see what affect Advocare will have on my afternoon "crash".

This is a perfect fit for what HSPN does - promote and help homeschool athletes, coaches and parents. For information (there is a lot!) and product endorsers, simply start here. Simply Start Here...

Coaches: what if you could have at your fingertips all the Career Stats of all of your current AND former players? What if you could have one location to direct college scouts? What if this location tracked 3X as many stats as the NPSAA?

Student Athletes: How cool would it be to know your Average Yards per carry this season, or Percentage of Shots on Goal (soccer), or Passing Completion Percentage during your career? Imagine being featured in the "Homeschool Stat Leaders" that will be referenced across the nation by the media and college recruiters.

From the HSPN web-site that already has the National Scoreboard, Game Day, Team Standings, Game Schedules and Upcoming Events, (click image to see all the features of the National Scoreboard) we are proud to announce
n-Perspective Stat Manager ® for Football (ready now) with Soccer and Volleyball due out later this week.

  • View the Current Stat Leaders from among all homeschool athletes on the National Scoreboard Page (if their stats are recorded)
  • Keep this as a portfolio of a high school career, and coaches can capture the careers of all the past players they ever coached.

Why do this?: It is the mission and endeavor of HSPN to be the sole source of homeschool athletic achievements - 24/7. To direct media, scouts, parents, friends and players to one location is our goal. Because the new "Homeschool Stat Leaders" section is comprised from your team's performance statistics from n-Perspective (in football, soccer, volleyball, baskeball, etc), it allows the National Scoreboard to be the most informative web site for team standings, game schedules and stat leaders for the homeschool community. Using these same metrics and performance tracking, you can now compare the same stats used by Public and Private School Associations. As soccer and volleyball stats come on-line in the next few days, it is our hope that you will take advantage of n-Perspective and the National Scoreboard.

HSPN Begins a New Campaign on Skills Development and Coaching Certification

2009 Pre-Season Reports

Springfield Chargers (MO) - awaiting report (coach, send us your report)

Frederick County Christian Eagles (MD) - are entering their fourth season. We have a combined record over the past three years of 15-13 and are 1-1 in playoff games. While we have an undersized team this year as far as the offensive and defensive line goes, we are quicker and faster in almost every position. Returning seniors include All MACC selections Tyler Bowman at tailback, Simon Martin at defensive end and Christian Wilson at linebacker. Other senior lettermen are Nick Cavell at linebacker, Brent Ponstein at tackle, Scott Schellhardt at guard, Matt Leber at receiver and Zach Fufari at safety. The team is also blessed with a strong group of underclassmen, including returning starters Josh Smith at quarterback, Landon Moore at linebacker, TJ Campagna at corner, and Philip Wall at linebacker. We have a large group of incoming freshmen this year, many, although inexperienced, promise to be starters. The Eagles, who finished third in the MACC last year and won the 2008 Gold Bowl, look forward to making a run at the MACC Championship.

Crown Knights (GA) - The Crown Knights look forward to another successful football season. Led by an experienced group of seniors, the Knights will feature a strong power running game and a hard hitting defense. Powerful and elusive running backs will only compliment Crown's dominant offensive line while their defense will show no mercy against the run and pass. Finishing as the best homeschooled team in the state and second in our league last year, the Knights will be strong contenders for the title again this year.

Central Virginia Disciples - awaiting report (coach, send us your report)
North Georgia Falcons - awaiting report (coach, send us your report)

Mid-Atlantic Christian Conference - Home School based teams are not only a venue for home school athletes to play varsity football, but also are becoming a known source for college recruiting. We all know the story of Heisman winner Tim Tebow. Frederick County Christian Eagles rising senior Linebacker and Tight End Christian Wilson receiving instruction from Georgetown University's Offensive Line coach Brad Dunlay. A 6'3", 240 pound All MACC Linebacker, Wilson was invited to the Georgetown camp primarily for rising seniors after coaches received information about his size, speed, character, and academic record.
