Chris, wonderful job this past week. It was our first time at the tourney and all of us had a blast! Dont change a thing, it was an awesome experience for our teams!!!
HSPN_1 (VA): 3/23/2011 2:07:03 PM
That's the cool part of our format. Throw out records, use geography for the pools and let all the intangibles happen. Such is the ups and downs of tournament life. Thanks Coach Ray you are correct! many trophies for many successes...
Coach Ray (IA): 3/23/2011 11:23:23 AM
A good tournament. Technically speaking unless there is one overall trophy then, there is more than one champion. It is a decent format and everyone has a chance to compete. Congrats to everyone in Pool 4 as every team went to a championship game! WOW. Tough pool obviously. Chris, great job, and may we remember our witness in all of this even to the kids! God Bless.
TourneyDirector (): 3/23/2011 11:12:15 AM
Final results will be posted by this weekend, including a photo gallery and final brackets and all of the award winners.
I am making up time at work, so I don't have much free time until the weekend.
MarkB (TN): 3/22/2011 1:05:30 PM
Any idea when we can expect to see tournament results?
ROCKS Basketball (NY): 3/21/2011 9:09:14 PM
Thanks for a great time. The organization and competition was great. Please keep the format the same. It offers something for every team participating. Can we request the same weather for next year? It snowed today in upstate New York!
Mouse (KY): 3/21/2011 8:24:28 PM
Just a comment. What a good tournament. I think next year, maybe try and divide the pools better. 8A doesn't necessarily mean the best teams. I know you do the best you can. I appreciate all that you do.
tndewboy (TN): 3/21/2011 3:22:27 PM
Re: my previous question: There were two middle school boys' brackets with four teams each. The best teams from pool play were put into a higher bracket together and the the lesser teams into another bracket, which meant we had to turn around and beat the same team again, which I noticed a lot of team did. If all these were put in one master btracket after pool play, you could have 1 vs. 8 and so on. This would prevent teams from having to re-play a team so soon in the bracket. Whatever you do, it was still great and we are so thankful for all you did! May God continue to bless each of you!
TourneyDirector (): 3/21/2011 1:47:07 PM
Thanks tndewboy (TN) for the great comments. We do what the NCAA does by having #1 play #4 and #2 play #3. We don't go beyond a 4 seed in any bracket, so we could never do a #1 vs #8... Not sure what you are thinking here....
tndewboy (TN): 3/21/2011 12:18:32 PM
Thanks so much for hosting the East Coast Championships! It was truly the opportunity of a life time for all the students on our 3 teams. Please consider placing teams in tournamnet brackets similar to the NCAA, where the one seed faces the eight seed, the two seed, faces the seven seed and so on....
