It began with just 8 teams on one gym at Fredericksburg Christian School in Northern Virginia in what became known as the Virginia Homeschool Basketball Tournament. After 10 years in Fredericksburg – expanding to 2 schools – HSPN found what it was looking for: a Division I college campus for our homeschoolers to come and explore and to enjoy some competition . Thus, the Virginia Homeschool Basketball Championships became the East Coast Basketball Championships in 2007 with 40 teams. In 2008 we welcomed 52 from as far away as Texas and Florida and we also welcomed back the "regulars" from GA, NC, VA, SC, MD, NJ, NY. For 2009, we have also talked to teams from Oklahoma, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and even Arizona. Having the tournament during Spring Break allows us to move freely around the campus with very little traffic! or parking issues.

Today as it was from its inception, HSPN’s tournament will not charge admission to any of the tournament games, slam-dunk, 3-pt shooting contests and other events scheduled to be part of the 2009 Event. As a non-profit, of course any tax-deductible donations are appreciated if the Lord has blessed you to do so. Have a great time!
